USM Alger achieved a valuable 1–0 victory over Zamalek SC in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final. In a highly competitive and balanced match, the Algerian representatives showed great patience and determination until the final moments of the game.
The decisive goal was scored by Khaldi in the closing seconds of stoppage time, giving the Algiers-based club an important psychological advantage ahead of the return leg. Thanks to this victory, USMA now holds a slight advantage over its Egyptian counterpart, although everything remains to be decided in the second leg scheduled for next week at the Cairo International Stadium.
