Zurich and Algiers, July 28, 2025 – The Algerian Professional Football League mobilis (LFP) has officially become a member of the World Leagues Association (WLA), marking a new milestone in its efforts to develop and professionalize football in Algeria.
The membership agreement was signed on Thursday, July 24, 2025, in London, at the headquarters of the English Premier League, by Mr. Mohamed Mesloug, President of the LFP, and Mr. Richard Masters, President of the World Leagues Association.
The World Leagues Association is the global body of national professional football leagues. Founded in 2017, it includes 45 members. Its mission is to enhance cooperation among national leagues and represent the interests of its members before international sports and political institutions.
By joining the WLA, the LFP becomes part of a global network of 45 professional leagues, enabling it to exchange experience, share best practices, and benefit from the WLA’s knowledge and expertise.
The signing ceremony also provided the LFP with an opportunity to present its recent achievements in the professionalization of Algerian football. A dedicated working session was held with Mr. Jérôme Perlemuter, Secretary General of the WLA, to assess the current strengths of the league and identify future areas of cooperation and development.
Mr. Mohamed Mesloug, President of the LFP, said:
“It is an honor and a pleasure for the Algerian Professional Football League to join the World Leagues Association. We look forward to working closely with the WLA and its members to strengthen professional football in Algeria and contribute to its development both nationally and internationally.”
